My name is Jan Lindqvist (Jan Lynson on some older works). I am a Brisbane based freelance artist. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts, which I completed with distinction at Queensland University of Technology in 2009. Prior to my studies at QUT, I worked in graphic design, brand development and games. I am currently looking for an opportunity to move my career in a new direction in the Brisbane region.

Most recently I have been working with the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation as their Videographer and Photographer, which has been a great opportunity to get involved with such a great event with a long history, as well as providing an opportunity to learn new skills and continue moving my career in a direction that I am passionate about.

Since graduating from QUT, I have been employed as a matte-painter and visual effects artist for several years with ‘The Post Lounge’, a full service post-production house located in Woolloongabba, Brisbane. Recently I have been working successfully as a freelance artist in Brisbane and Melbourne, both in-house and remotely as required. Recent 3D work includes jobs on several foreign car commercials, architectural scenes for some fully animated corporate shorts as well as film related 3D and Matte work for the UAE pavilion at the 2015 World Expo in Milan, Italy.

I also have a highly developed range of image processing skills centered around Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom due to my photographic and matte painting experience. For 3D work, depending on the needs of the project I primarily work with Maya / 3DS Max and render with Mental Ray / Vray. I have experience using Zbrush for high-res organic sculpts, and the software has also formed part of my texturing process, although I have recently started exploring the use of Mari for texturing purposes. For the most part I make use of the Adobe suite when editing or compositing, although I do also use Nuke for compositing when the opportunity arises.
